4 and 2!!!

Well my little boys are 4 and 2 so today we went to the doctor for a check-up and some shots, eek!

Here are their stats!
Oliver: Height 40in (50th percentile)
            Weight: 35lbs (50th percentile)

JJ: Height: 37in (90th percentile)
     Weight: 29lbs (60th percentile)

We got some ice cream and a slushy afterwards to numb the pain of shots!

Birthday Party

We had a joint birthday party for the boys at our house last weekend. It was a pretty stressful day organizing everything but I think it turned out really well. It's sad not having either of our families be able to come to events like this, but I'm glad all of our really great friends here in Lubbock could come to celebrate with us. JJ didn't really get what was going on and was a little overwhelmed but I know Oli loved all the attention. Oli's highlight was definitely the cake, anytime anyone asks him about his birthday he immediately says "shark cake!" I'm so glad he loved it and my stress of making it paid off! The party happened to be on Oli's actual birthday so on JJ's birthday (4 days later) we took the boys out for JJ's favourite food: ice cream!

Happy 2nd Birthday JJ!!

Our not so little boy Mr Jordan James is 2 today! Here's some things we love about JJ:

• We call him a "brute" because he such a big chunky man
• JJ has the most gorgeous smile
• JJ has many nicknames! Who knew we could shorten his already short name....? Our favourite are: Jage & J-JO
• He is a whirlwind and has SO much energy
• JJ loves Toy Story and Spongebob
• JJ loves his brothers a LOT, he follows Oli's every move and pretty much smothers Eli with kisses and hugs
• He loves swings, swimming & playing chase with Daddy
• JJ is our dancer and can often be seen busting a move

Oliver is 4!!

I can't believe our big boy Oliver turned 4 yesterday! Here's some things we love about Oli:

• He has the sweetest soul and can be very sensitive
• He is SO caring for his younger brothers, especially for baby Eli
• He is WAY into sharks and can name all the different species
• He loves anything boy: trucks/trains/bugs
• He now picks out his own clothes and dresses himself
• He is very good at entertaining himself and can play for hours
• He loves swimming and riding his bike
• He just had an end of school year program and he knew the words & actions to all of the songs, it was completely adorable!

The "O-lads"

When I had JJ Oli was a stinker, he didn't want JJ anywhere near him and would say "no baby" every time I brought him close. Here's about the best picture I got of them both for a while:

So this time, with baby Eli, I was really hoping that the boys would love him. Well they do, too much! All day Oli constantly asks me if he can hold Eli, hug him, kiss him. He cries when Eli is feeding because he wants to be holding him. And whilst I love how much these kids adore their younger brother, it was almost easier when the new baby was being left alone! Poor Eli gets jostled around all day and has learnt to just let it happen, bless his heart. I have to remember that I wished for this, and in the end I'm glad they're friends!!

1 month today!

I can't believe Mr Eli is already a month old. I feel like he has been with us forever but still can't believe that a month could go so fast. Here's what we know about him so far:

He is a very sweet and loving boy, loves to cuddle and does not like to be put down for very long, unless he is snuggled tight in a blanket.

Eli is getting the hang of sleeping at night, but still needs some training! He doesn't really appreciate his bassinet and prefers to be snuggled in Mummy & Daddy's bed.

Eli loves to nap and it is almost impossible to wake him up during the day when he's sleeping.

He is so patient with his older brothers who are more than a little rough. He doesn't get mad when they give lots of kisses and attention, he just chills out like it's the most normal thing in the world.

Today I was reading some old blog posts from when I was pregnant and I made more than a few references to that fact that I hoped I was having a girl. So Eli I want you to know, I am SO glad you are not a girl! I wanted you all along I just didn't realize it. We love you so much.

Easter 2012

We had a fun Easter this year, with LOTS of sweets. We tried to explain the true meaning of Easter to Oli, I'm not sure it did any good, all he heard is Easter means eggs and candy! Maybe next year....
