Dallas getaway

Tim recently finished school for a few weeks so we decided we'd better take a break while we can! Just being out of Lubbock for a few days was really nice. Here's some highlights from our trip:

On our way! 5 hour drive

We spent the first two days at the Great Wolf Lodge. It's a big resort with an indoor water park. Oli's favourite part was the lazy river, he just kept wanting to swim around and around it. JJ liked the wave pool, he found it hilarious every time a wave hit him. They both loved the slides and the kiddy pool. I think we underestimated how tiring it would be with 3 kids in a place like this, but it was worth it!

Oli loved it!

Eli snuggled and slept most of the time

We were also really excited to go to Dallas because there's some places to eat that we don't have in Lubbock. We ate at Red Robin, Steak n Shake, and Costa Vida (a poor man's version of Cafe Rio, but hey it hits the spot), and Rainforest Cafe, a really fun restaurant that looks like a rainforest inside and has tons of life-size animals.

Oli is such a good sport

At Rainforest Cafe, the boys loved this crocodile

We also spent a few days in North Dallas staying with Tyson & Sara (Tim's older brother and their family). We always have a lot of fun together. It's pretty crazy with 7 kids getting in each others hair, but it's worth it. We spent a day at the zoo with them.

A day at Dallas Zoo!

A week of no naps took it's toll on JJ!

This was probably our only getaway of the summer so I'm glad we did it while we could. Tim has a busy summer. He is proposing his thesis in a few weeks (a meta-analysis on cyber bullying) and will hopefully be defending it in August. Then you can all call him "Master Tim"!
