it's better when we're together.....

We few, we lucky few, we band of brothers. Is two enough to be a band? Anyway, here's why I love having two. Whenever they play or are doing something together, they always sit very close to one another. If Oli moves, JJ goes and sits right next to him, it's very cute.

Here's some of the things we've done today:

I was actually really proud of Oli during this one. He's usually quite possessive over his toys and likes to play alone, since JJ usually destroys whatever he's doing, but today he was really patient with JJ and was showing him how to hammer the nails (all plastic!) was sooooo cute to watch.

Teething and cuteness

Our little baby JJ is almost 14 months and it feels like he has been teething non-stop for the past year! I don't remember noticing it as much with Oli, or him really being affected much by it, but poor JJ has had it rough. He's been very upset, had fevers, millions of poops a day, a constant runny nose, and just been generally fussy a lot of the time, sometimes his gums bleed too which makes me sad. He's always walking around finding things to chomp on, usually it's his fingers, or occasionally Tim's shoulder! He finally just got his 4th molar so I'm hoping that's it for a while!! Still.....we love this little man!

Dallas weekend getaway

Tim recently finished school after he'd been going straight since August of last year, so we decided to get away for a long weekend in Dallas. We spent the first part of the weekend visiting Tyson & Sara, unfortunately they all got sick, probably from us since we'd been sick earlier in the week....sorry! We went to Dickies (BBQ) and hung out, was fun. The we drove to Grapevine, played at the mall and stayed in the Great Wolf Lodge.....funnest waterpark EVER!!! My favourite part was watching Oli, he loves the water and has a great time, it was seriously one of the funnest weekend's we've had since we've been married. Who says you can't do anything fun with two little kids?! Here's some pics of our weekend:

Oli and JJ's Birthdays

Soooooo.......my big bog Oliver turned 3 on April 28th, and my baby Jordan turned 1 on May 2nd.
I can't believe it has really been a whole year since we graduated and had JJ a week later! It's been a crazy year with moving to Texas and Tim starting grad school. But its been great, and Oliver has grown up SO much. I wanted to make it a really fun birthday for Oli since now he's old enough to realize so we planned a lot of fun stuff. Tyson, Sara and the cousins came from Dallas to stay with us and we had a birthday party with all of Oli's friends, a Thomas cake, and of course-presents! That's the part Oli loved the most I think!

The "I want" phase.....

So Oli is in the "I want" phase. These are the things I hear a million times a day: "I want candy" "I want a gogurt" "I wanna watch Thomas" "Mummy, I want waffles" "I want to play trains" "I want a drink" "I want to go playplace"...........it goes on and on and on. Then I realized, I think I'm still in the "I want" phase too. These are the things I say a million times a day (usually in my head): "I want a house" "I want a yard" "I want Tim to be done with school" "I want Tim to have a proper job" "I want to go on holiday" "I want a new car".......the list goes on and on and on. So how do we get out of the I want phase and enjoy living in the now? Something I've yet to learn, but I'll try. I DON'T want to wish away time and miss everything that's happening now!!!
